Slides
In their quest for educational sales, Ladybird tried many different tactics for presenting their material. One such was the 35mm slide format. Produced by the "Slide Company of London", they came in small ring-binders (approx 7*8 inches, with the slides in 3*3 transparent plastic wallets. The books themselves were in a small flap at the end.

The slides themselves are reproductions of the pages from the book, with introductory and copyright slides. Of the three sets we have, two are from the "Ladybird Leaders" series; "Under the ground" and "Trains". These have plastic slides, stamped as above. The earlier volume, "Exploring Space", had no markings and the slides were mounted in cardboard. They were found in a library clearance, so the binders may not be original. Whether they were made on behalf of Ladybird, or as a separate enterprise is unclear, but they are a nice addition to any collection.
