Cards
The Ladybird Key Words Reading Scheme was a huge success
for the company and helped a large part of the Nations 40 somethings to
read as well as what they can. To accompany the series, a set of picture-word
matching cards were published. There were (at least) two volumes, a blue
set and a red set, each consisting of 6 pictures and a number of word
cards to choose from. Apparently a score card was given to children. If
you have one, please let
us know.
 They
date from the 60's and are marked as "Wills & Hepworth". Interesting
little items to any Ladybird enthusiast. They came from a primary school that
was closing down & selling off their stock. It makes you wonder how much more
Ladybird material lurks in school cupboards.
To save you looking, the keywords scheme was never issued in
dust-jackets...
